Project Description
Contract D/E Modified is the fourth design build contract of the 18.8 mile east/west highway linking Prince George's and Montgomery counties.
With the procurement of Contract D/E Modified, elements of the two remaining segments are being combined and modified. Contract D/E Modified will consist of a reduced length of collector-distributor road along I-95 and will include the extension of the ICC from the eastern terminus of Contract C to an at-grade intersection at Virginia Manor Road. The contract will also include an option to construct the lCC/Virginia Manor Road interchange and extend the ICC to US l, contingent on available future funding within the previously approved ICC financial plan.
The SHA will partner with the successful design-build team to construct this contract with the utmost environmental sensitivity, a strong commitment to quality and safety, and achievement of our Minority Business Enterprise/Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (MBE/DBE) goals, while adhering to our budget and schedule. I urge you to learn more about this project by reviewing the enclosed materials. We anticipate distributing a Request for Proposals (RFP) in April of this year. A Pre-RFP Informational Meeting will not be held for this contract.
