FEIS

Final Environmental Impact Statement

The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA), the Maryland Transportation Authority (MdTA) in cooperation with other state, local, and federal agencies, developed a Final Environmental Impact Statement (FEIS) consisting of the complete text of the Draft EIS (DEIS) with revisions and additions based on supplemental research and public and agency comments. The final EIS was signed January 3rd, 2006.

The DEIS was developed and made available for review and comment by the public prior to the FEIS. Click here to view the DEIS. Sections of the DEIS that were substantively rewritten or supplemented in the FEIS in response to public and agency comments include:

  • Chapter IV - Environmental Consequences (refinements to impact calculations);
  • Chapter V - Section 4(f) Evaluation; and
  • Chapter VII - Preferred Alternative.
