Beginning on or about Saturday, July 31, the Maryland Department of Transportation's (MDOT) State Highway Administration (SHA) will shift traffic on New Hampshire Avenue (MD 650) for continued construction of the permanent Intercounty Connector (ICC) Bridge and associated work on the MD 650 interchange. State Highway Administration Shifts Traffic on Norbeck Road

This Saturday, May 8, the Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration (SHA) will shift traffic on MD 28 (Norbeck Road) between Baileys Lane and Wintergate Drive onto a temporary road to allow for construction of a permanent bridge over the Intercounty Connector (ICC). As a result of the new traffic pattern, the existing intersection of MD 28 and Wintergate Drive will shift just south of its current location and will include a new temporary traffic signal. State Highway Shifts Traffic on Notley Road for Intercounty Connector Construction

Beginning on or about May 1, 2010, weather permitting, the Maryland Department of Transportation’s State Highway Administration (SHA) will shift traffic to a temporary road adjacent to existing Notley Road, between Royal Forest Lane and Paula Lynn Drive, to allow for construction of a permanent bridge crossing the ICC. State Highway Administration Temporarily Closes Section of Bonifant Road in Silver Spring As Part of InterCounty Connector Project

During the week of April 12, 2010, the Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration (SHA) will temporarily close a section of Bonifant Road between Alderton Road and Carona Drive in Silver Spring. This temporary closure is necessary to construct a bridge that will carry the Intercounty Connector (ICC) over Bonifant Road. The work is part of the $2.5 billion ICC project (contract B) scheduled to open in late 2011. Read More

State Highway Administration Begins New ICC Traffic Pattern at I-370 / Shady Grove Road

As part of the Maryland State Highway Administration’s (SHA) $2.5 billion Intercounty Connector (ICC), a new traffic pattern is starting that will affect motorists using the Shady Grove Road / I-370 interchange in western Montgomery County. The traffic switch allows crews to continue bridge construction within the I-370/Shady Grove Road interchange. Read More

Contracts to build 17.9 miles of the 18.8-mile Intercounty Connector (ICC) are underway, representing $1.5 billion in work of the $ 2.5 billion project. As of April 2010, approximately $1,283 million of the project budget, or 50.0 percent, has been expended. As of April 2010, ICC construction workers have logged more than 3.8 million labor hours.
