Approved Tolling Plan

Tolls on the ICC will be set based upon tolling parameters voted on and approved by the Authority Board Members on December 17, 2009. The approved tolling parameters are:
Rate Ranges
- Per-mile rate range for the peak period is $0.25 - $0.35
- Per-mile rate range for the off-peak period is $0.20 - $0.30
- Per-mile rate range for the overnight period is $0.10 - $0.30
- Motorcycle rate range is $0.25 - $0.35
Pricing Periods
- Peak period is 6AM - 9AM and 4PM - 7PM; Monday - Friday (excluding Federal Holidays)
- Overnight period is 11PM - 5AM Nightly
- Off-peak period is all other times.
- Rounding Rule - each trip's toll is rounded up to the nearest nickel
- Minimum toll - is 2.0 miles multiplied by the applicable vehicle class toll rate, or $0.40 (whichever is greater)

Truck (Multi-axle vehicle) rate calculation
- 3 axle = 3.0 x base rate
- 4 axle = 4.5 x base rate
- 5 axle = 6.0 x base rate
- 6 axle = 7.5 x base rate
The actual toll rates will be set by MDTA's Executive Secretary. The tolls rates will be adjusted periodically within the approved parameters to manage congestion and meet revenue goals. A 10-day notice will be provided for all toll rate changes. A timeframe has not been identified for setting the toll rates.
